Weekend Events: June 7th Edition


Happy Friday, Eastie! We are officially into June which means the end of school is right around the corner.. eeek! That DOES also mean that the warm weather is here and hopefully it’s ready to stay! It’s looking like a great weekend so check out what’s going on and enjoy!

The next Fair Foods $2 produce event at the EBNHC is today from 2:30-4pm. Remember, this is a first-come, first-served, CASH ONLY event.


Eastie’s 6th Annual Pride Flag Raising event will take place from 6-7pm at Piers Park.





The Let’s Get Movin’ 5k run/walk for fitness kicks off at 9am on Saturday, June 8th. This will take place at Memorial Stadium and all are welcome. There will be medals for everyone, kids activities, healthy snacks, live music and more!



The next PLAN: East Boston neighborhood walking tour will meet on Saturday, June 8th, from 10am-12pm. This week’s tour will cover Orient Heights.


The next community class at The Point EB kicks off at 12pm.


Atlantic Works Gallery kicks off their newest exhibit, Constellations, with an opening reception from 6-9pm.


The next Fresh Truck mobile food market will be down Maverick Square on Monday, June 10th, from 3-6pm.


Author Joanie Woodward will be hosting a yoga program for kids at the library on Tuesday, June 11th, from 10:30-11:30am.


Sacred Heart Parish is hosting their annual spaghetti dinner from 4:30-7:30pm. There will be food, raffles, music, etc!


There will be a quick neighborhood clean-up from 6:30-7:30pm. This time everyone will be meeting on Maverick Street.


The library is hosting The Pineapple Project on Wednesday, June 12, from 10:30-11:30am. This is a play about gender, creativity and each child’s freedom to be who they are. This is geared for children aged 3-8.


Students from the Otis Elementary will be performing Beauty and the Beast at the high school (on both the 12th and the 13th). There will be three chances to see their amazing show!


The next Wednesday night Zumba Class runs from 6:30-7:30pm at the Marty Pino gym.


The EVFA is hosting their next new mom’s breakfast from 10am-12pm on Thursday, June 13th.


The next teen magic workshop at the library will be at 4-5pm. Teens are invited to come learn all about magic with local Boston celebrity magician Bonaparte! The workshop requires registration and will run on Thursdays through the end of June.


The Harborkeepers, along with the USCG, are hosting a paddling safety training session from 4:30-6:30pm at LoPresti Park. Pre-registration is required.


There will be a reception in honor of State Rep Adrian Madaro at the Hilton Garden Inn from 6-8pm.
