Weekend Events: May 18th Edition
Happy Friday, Eastie! We have some great events happening this weekend.. Check them out below!
The Fair Foods $2 Bags of Produce will be available at the EBNHC from 2:30-4pm today. Remember, this is a first-come, first-serve, CASH ONLY event.
Side note: The annual Love Your Block city-wide clean-up is on Saturday, May 19th. Join your neighbors, get outside, and let’s clean up Eastie!
There is a bird walking tour at Belle Isle Marsh from 8-9am.
The next shoreline clean-up will be at Central Square (pending weather) from 10-11am.
There will be a Q+A Veteran’s Panel for the Boston’s Wounded Vet Run at the Courtyard by Marriott starting at 2pm.
A six-week food and writing workshop kicks off it’s first week at the library from 2:30-4:30pm.
Ward 1 East Boston Progressive is holding their monthly meeting from 6-8pm.
The next $5 community class at The Point EB is from 12-1pm.
The next Yu-Gi-Oh club for teens at the library is from 1-4pm.
The Annual Boston’s Wounded Vet Motorcycle Run is on Sunday, May 20th. It kicks off in Revere but ends around 2pm at Suffolk Downs. There will be music, food, guest speakers, etc! All are welcome.
The after-party for the motorcycle run starts at 5pm at the Italian-American War Vets Post 6.
The East Boston Kids Pop-Up Choir will meet at the library on Monday, May 21st, from 5-6pm. They will also meet on Thursday of next week.
The next free community dance workshop is at Paris St Gym from 5-6pm. This will run weekly through May.
Author Russ Lopez will be discussing his book, Boston 1945-2015, at the library from 6:30-7:45pm.
The next ESL and computer skills class for BPS parents is at the YMCA from 10am-12:30pm on Tuesday, May 22nd. This will also meet on Wednesday.
The next Recycled Art Workshop is from 11am-1pm.
The next Eliot School Tinkering and Inventions Program will be at the library at 4pm. This is a problem-solving program for children ages 7-10.
The next East Boston YMCA art class for kids ages 6-12 will meet from 4-5pm on Wednesday, May 23rd.
The next Wednesday night Zumba class at the Marty Pino Gym will run from 6:30-7:30pm.
A hand-on 10-week computer training workshop for teens begins on Thursday, May 24th, at the EBSC. This will run from 4-6pm and teens ages 17-20 are welcome to attend.
The next Namastay Sober community class will run from 5:15-6:15pm at The Point EB.
The next Power of Parenting Workshop begins at 5:30pm at the EBSC. This is aimed for parents who have children ages birth-3 years.
Friends of the East Boston Greenway’s monthly meeting will be at 6:30pm.
Atlantic Works Gallery’s new exhibit, The Revolution Will Not Be, is on display during the month of May. Go check it during visiting hours, 6-9pm!
